Frequently asked questions from EduBridge parents and students

We’ve put together our FAQs from our families and students so you have all the answers at your fingertips!

How does online tutoring work?

In much the same way as face-to-face tutoring, your tutor will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to your student’s needs and long term goals. The main difference is that online tuition happens from the comfort of your home, via a video chat. Rather than having to rely on a brilliant maths tutor being in your local area, you can find your expert maths tutor online from our pool of top tutors from all over the country.

With us, your student and tutor will use our interactive online platform to connect and share notes and resources. You will also have the support of our entire Student Success Team, and be able to communicate with your tutor outside of the lessons via your private tutor group chat.

What are the benefits of online tutoring?

There are many benefits of online tuition, but we’ve put together our 6 top benefits for you!

Convenience - online lessons mean no time spent travelling to and from your tutor. This gives you more of that all important flexibility when booked, and rescheduling, your lessons!

Expert tuition - not being limited to a certain postcode means you get access to the best tutors the whole country has to offer - all from the comfort of your own home!

Environment - being able to stay home means that your student is already in a familiar learning environment.

Tailored lessons - 1 to 1 lessons mean that your student’s needs are always front and centre! Your tutor/s work with their personal learning style, ensuring they get the most out of each lesson.

Interactive - your student can see engaging and interactive resources right in front of them, and work together with their tutor at the same time using a shared screen.

Trustworthy - tutors that work with a tuition company are vetted thoroughly before being paired with any students, so you can feel sure you’re in safe hands.

What are the benefits of choosing EduBridge?

We only work with qualified teachers or expertly qualified tutors, meaning our students and families can trust that they are with the right tutor to help them achieve their learning goals. Our intuitive online learning platform allows our students to keep track of their lessons, access resources between lessons and see feedback shared from their tutor. We also streamline communication using private group chats with families and tutors, to help you really make the most out of every lesson. Lastly, our dedicated Student Success Team is always on hand to help you in any way they can.

How do I know my tutor is qualified?

We only work with qualified teachers or tutors with at least 2 years of good quality, relevant experience. We also make sure that all of our tutors have a valid DBS check before matching them with our students.

How do you find the right tutor for me?

Our process starts with an initial call with an Academic Advisor. During this call your personal advisor will find out all the important information about your student, from learning style to hobbies and interests! They will use this understanding to pair you with one of our qualified tutors for a free evaluation lesson. Then, we use student and tutor feedback after the evaluation lesson to make sure that the tutor we’ve matched you with is the right tutor for you! And if you’re not happy with the match, we’re always happy to give it another go!

How much does a lesson cost?

Our lessons are priced between £28 and £40, depending on the number of lessons per week and the level of the student (up to SATs, GCSEs or A-Levels). This price is confirmed with your Academic Advisor before getting started with us.

Your trust is important to us, so we have no hidden fees and we don’t work with tricky contracts.

How do I pay for the lessons?

Simply add your preferred card to your personal account on our online platform and be automatically charged based on the lessons booked into the calendar. It’s completely secure, and you receive an itemised invoice each week or month (depending on how frequently you arrange to pay) so you always know exactly what you’re paying for.

Do I have to sign a contract?

We don’t work with contracts, and we don’t have any hidden sign up or cancellation fees - you only ever pay for the lessons and service that you use!

How do the lessons work?

Can I cancel or reschedule a lesson if I can’t make it any more?

Thanks to our online platform it also couldn’t be easier to reschedule a lesson, just let us or your tutor know the lesson you’d like to reschedule and we’ll move it for you free of charge- we just ask for one hour's notice before the lesson. If you cancel a lesson that has already been paid for you are automatically issued a Make Up Credit, to be used at a later date to rebalance your payments so you’re not out of pocket.
